How IT Works

Movements are started by you!   We are essentially a Kickstarter (TM) for Co-Ops!  The details are created by each founder, including timeline, funding goal, member targets, and initial movement contribution.  Have an idea?  Contact us today to start your movement.

Once a movement's funding target is achieved, your cooperative is formed either through a cooperative conversion (purchase of an existing entity) or creation of a new cooperative as intended by the founder.  Not all movements will be successful!  At the conclusion of a movement's timeline - either it will be successful or funds will be reimbursed to the members based on the details of the particular movement.

Community contributions towards a particular movement will serve as the funds used to create the cooperative either through a cooperative conversion of an existing business or creation of a new cooperative as outlined by its founder.   If a movement succeeds, you'll gain membership in the cooperative.  If a movement fails - you get your money back less small overhead fees.  Your contribution to a movement is not an investment, there is no expected rate of return.   Your contribution is a commitment to a particular movement and the principles of cooperative community ownership.

Building a community of likeminded individuals to capitalize and take ownership is awesome!  Being part of something bigger is awesome! Having a vote in how your Co-Op is run and who reaps the benefits is awesome!   Communities are stronger when they can take control through a cooperative effort.

Movements will only be successful with the hard work and dedication of it's members - bring everyone in your community to the table if you really want success.  If every new member can bring 2 new members the following day - you'd have more than a million members in less than a month.  Movements only succeed with the dedication and effort of it's members.
